Love love love this.
One note and boring. Mix it up a bit.
Indian food “one note” lol Enjoy your pigs in a blanket.
NP can't we all get along? It doesn't have to be either/or. I love dips and am looking forward to dip ideas to try (along with alllll the other foods!). I'm obsessed with tzakiki and other ways to make yogurt in a savory, cooling way. I also love buffalo chicken, artichokes, salsa, etc. Someone please invent the ultimate dip.
I make my own onion dip. I originally followed a recipe for "3 onion dip" years ago and have long since forgotten the original recipe, but I caramelize finely chopped onions (white, sweet, or yellow) with some finely chopped shallots and add a splash of balsamic when they are done, then cool. Add to sour cream once they are cooled off, with salt, pepper, and minced chives. Garnish with minced chives. Could easily make this with yogurt instead of sour cream. You can add minced garlic to the onions as well, but I tend to avoid doing so because I'm paranoid about burning garlic and ruining my efforts. Onion dip isn't revolutionary, but this stuff is good. And caramelizing onions is tedious, but for this dip, at least once in a while, it's worth it.
