Jalapeno Popper Dip

Gourmet hot dogs (literally, it's a Wolfgang Puck recipe)

Smoked Fish Dip

Crab Rangoon

Empanadas

Hot Honey Halloumi Sliders

Cold Devilled Crab Dip

Not suggesting that these ALL go on one menu, just that it is a selection of items we've made for football food in the past

The families coming over have young kids. They would not like any of these foods.

I always do a vegetable tray that works with dips and as its own “break from all the heavy stuff”

Pretzel bites with cheese sauce

Fruit skewers (big hit with the kids)

My new favorite app from Instagram is Boursin rolled in egg/flour/panko and baked, then drizzled with hot honey. It’s amazing and works well with crackers or vegetables.

Buffalo wings

This sounds completely unappetizing. Congrats, you win.

We've got one idiot here ^^^ trying to derail the whole thread with their negativity. They need to be ignored.

One note and boring. Mix it up a bit.

Indian food “one note” lol

Enjoy your pigs in a blanket.

NP can't we all get along? It doesn't have to be either/or.
I love dips and am looking forward to dip ideas to try (along with alllll the other foods!). I'm obsessed with tzakiki and other ways to make yogurt in a savory, cooling way. I also love buffalo chicken, artichokes, salsa, etc. Someone please invent the ultimate dip.

I make my own onion dip. I originally followed a recipe for "3 onion dip" years ago and have long since forgotten the original recipe, but I caramelize finely chopped onions (white, sweet, or yellow) with some finely chopped shallots and add a splash of balsamic when they are done, then cool. Add to sour cream once they are cooled off, with salt, pepper, and minced chives. Garnish with minced chives. Could easily make this with yogurt instead of sour cream. You can add minced garlic to the onions as well, but I tend to avoid doing so because I'm paranoid about burning garlic and ruining my efforts.

Onion dip isn't revolutionary, but this stuff is good. And caramelizing onions is tedious, but for this dip, at least once in a while, it's worth it.

Each of the ends with foods representing the two teams — and we joke that you should take the food of the team you’re rooting for. The middle is the “don’t care who wins” section. So, if it ends up being Seahawks vs. Patriots, I will do a smoked salmon tray, mini Seattle dogs and Starbucks cake pops (the super easy dupe using donut holes) vs. Boston cream donuts (cut into quarters), clam dip, and baked bean bacon cups. In the middle I’d do pizza, crudite, fruit skewers and chips. Totally a mix of homemade, party trays and a quick trip to the donut shop.

How the heck did you know??!
