A friend of mine reached out last week. He has been looking for a job for 11 months. He used to make $256k as a senior software developer. Don't fall in love with your "high" HHI. You can be him next time and I am sure you won't be coming here bragging.
Very true and this is the case for my job where I think i will graze just about 400k this year. I’m well aware of my precarious situation and am extremely conservative. Best case scenario, Inwill retire with a minutiae of money. Worst case scenario i will stop working at 48(now) and still live well due to savings. However, my DH is a different story. He makes about 350-400k/yr and constantly has recruiters banging down his door. When he job hunts he always has his choice of jobs, only time he leaves a company is due to culture or i’d he no longer believes in the technology. Last job switch he did he had 3 offers before he even resigned from his company. He’s a sales engineer (technical person who understands products and technology).
