I agree. There's a lot of resentment toward progressives in California. Even San Francisco recalled their DA. If Democrats choose a rude, abrasive, and unlikeable candidate, they will be vulnerable as long as Republicans choose someone sane. People can mock Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he would win in a heartbeat over Katie Porter today.  [/quote]

There is no question in my mind that an Arnold Schwarzenegger would win over Porter.

What a lot of DCUM posters do not get because they aren’t here in CA is that for much of the state, [b]from the very wealthiest to the very poorest, the quality of life in the state has degraded[/b] under Newsom and particularly the progressives. I don’t think I know a single person who thinks their quality of life in California has gotten better since Newsom was elected. Almost everyone hates ICE, even conservatives and Republicans, so that creates a serious opening, but a reasonable-sounding Republican who asks the question “Are you better off?” could do very well. The anger at what the progressives have done to this state runs very deep. [/quote]
