As a current Worcester resident, I'll say that "revitalized" is a bit of a stretch. There's certainly been effort. The new ballpark and refresh of the Kelley Square certainly had an instant effect on the activities and energy in that area. Unfortunately, the hype for the new has started to fade and many of those restaurants and bars that opened with great hope after the ballpark was built and throughout COVID have started to close. They just can't pull the people down there without the ball games and, during ball games, people are apt to stay in the park for their food/drink. Parking is also a nightmare down there.

Shrewsbury Street has some neat restaurants and bars but it could be a hike for a HC student without a car. Ubers are fine but, like anywhere, you have to be somewhat careful with neighborhoods and drivers.

Worcester is definitely safer than DC. More vibrant? Not a chance. Revitalized? It's trying.[/quote]
