Does HC offer merit aid?

My child is at HC - has friends from around the country and has taken some interesting catholic theology classes which he chose, they were not required. It's a nice school with good academics and nice kids. Whether they are nicer than other schools seems like an impossible thing to assess. They go into Boston a few times a year and also road trip to Brown and PC where they know other kids. Ability to get classes is good and professors for the most part make themselves available for office hours etc.

^Maybe if they put our name on the new building.

As a current Worcester resident, I'll say that "revitalized" is a bit of a stretch. There's certainly been effort. The new ballpark and refresh of the Kelley Square certainly had an instant effect on the activities and energy in that area. Unfortunately, the hype for the new has started to fade and many of those restaurants and bars that opened with great hope after the ballpark was built and throughout COVID have started to close. They just can't pull the people down there without the ball games and, during ball games, people are apt to stay in the park for their food/drink. Parking is also a nightmare down there.

Shrewsbury Street has some neat restaurants and bars but it could be a hike for a HC student without a car. Ubers are fine but, like anywhere, you have to be somewhat careful with neighborhoods and drivers.

Worcester is definitely safer than DC. More vibrant? Not a chance. Revitalized? It's trying.

It is. Hand holding. More RA presence. Lacks the nightlife, hard drugs and sex work around BCs campus

Carleton College, Wellesley, Claremont McKenna, Bowdoin, and Swarthmore are not better than Cornell Vandy Emory and ND. They are super weak in STEM and lack credentialing programs to pipeline students into promising careers.
