DP. It was originally created to help level the playing field between high quality public education systems and low quality ones. To make it so that the difference in education between Langley HS and East Louis Sr. High School in Illinois weren't so pronounced. The goal was not really achieved, but it was well-intentioned. High time to ABOLISH any agency that has consistently FAILED to get even one iota closer to its mission.

The Department has had FORTY FIVE YEARS to improve education for American children, yet SCORES have only DROPPED.

Anyone advocating for their continued existence is a scam artist. Enough is enough.

I don't disagree. But its dismantling needs to be done in a more measured way. Money and responsibilities need to be returned to the states in an orderly fashion before just summarily setting the whole thing on fire. [/quote]
