Anyone?
DP. It was originally created to help level the playing field between high quality public education systems and low quality ones. To make it so that the difference in education between Langley HS and East Louis Sr. High School in Illinois weren't so pronounced. The goal was not really achieved, but it was well-intentioned.

From the article:
"A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from firing thousands of workers at the Department of Education, ruling that the announced terminations were a thinly veiled effort to dismantle the entire department without congressional approval."
Does the judge have the right to rule this way?
We still have a Department of Education. We still have a Secretary of Education.
Does the executive branch not decide when to staff and destaff?
The 1st Circuit Court of Appeals upheld this ruling today.
It will still be overturned.

Their piggy bank is gone.

Then we, the American taxpayers, have been SCAMMED.
High time to ABOLISH any agency that has consistently FAILED to get even one iota closer to its mission.
The Department has had FORTY FIVE YEARS to improve education for American children, yet SCORES have only DROPPED.
Anyone advocating for their continued existence is a scam artist. Enough is enough.

Agencies are funded by Congress.
Agencies fall under the Executive branch of government. Who created the Department of Edumacation? Jimmy Carter.
Do you find cabinet positions in Congress? No.
Was Carter in Congress when he created it?
The judge best review the Constitution. He's out of his lane (again).
You spouting "rule of law" and "democracy" every 15 minutes shows just how clueless you are.
The Department of Education was created by Congress in a law called the Department of Education Organization Act. Several other laws have mandated it perform certain functions and spend certain money for certain purposes. The president is required to follow those laws whether he likes it or not. The judicial branch has the power to decide when he’s not following the law and correct it.
What law mandated that schools serve as medical facilities to treat children who are routinely violent?
None.
What’s the main purpose of the Education Department?
To educate kids so they don’t grow up to be stupid unproductive people
Wrong. They do not educate. They exist as a very big, bloated bureaucracy.
What people do not understnad is that every level of bureaucracy in education peels off funds to support their own existence. By the time the funds get to the classroom, there is not much left.
I saw this many years ago and nothing has changed.
Apparently this is their goal. It’s a travesty. Both children and teachers are suffering. The DoE bureaucrats don’t care.
+1 They have their pensions as their goals.
If you’re so jealous of their pensions, why don’t you get a job that has one?
PP isn’t jealous but making suggesting that the priority of these workers isn’t education but rather personal pensions. Address that argument not a straw man.
What’s your priority in your job? Out of curiosity…
Why are you curious about my personal life rather than the argument at hand? Just curious.
You imply that government workers are solely by “personal pensions.” Putting aside your “personal life,” what do you think motivates workers in the private sector? And why do you think their motivations are superior to those of public sector workers?
