NIH needs to be cut in half if not more.

Just look at the inflated property values in Maryland around NIH.  they have been transferring so much money from ordinary taxpayers to rich bureaucrats for a long long time.

I once signed up for a hang gliding course taught by an NIH lab workers.  He lived in Arlington but worked at NIH.   This is 90's, he never worked weekends, he never worked late.   And he didn't have any stress.  He had time to run a hang gliding business on the side in evenings and every weekend.   I was jealous I must admit, since I was working software development with insane death march hours.

1) You were never smart enough to get a lab job at NIH
2) You were making much more money than the NIH worker and you chose your job because of that.
3) You were not smart enough to find a career that gave you good work life balance
4) Jealousy makes you look even dumber than you actually are.
