I couldn’t agree any more.

Then they give him a free lift to a hotel where they advise him to shower and relax while watching some good tv.
And they send Gabby Petito off alone in the van, that she is scared to even drive out into the unknown before dusk.
They even encourage her to drive to a public shower since they believe a relaxing shower would alleviate much of her anxiety/stress since it works for his wife when she feels anxious.
Gabby ended up spending the night at the hotel as well according to the Netflix doc.[/quote]

I thought this was really weird too, but my one defense of the cops is that they knew he had taken the keys from the van from her and locked her out of the van. They may have thought it would be safer for her to control their transportation. That’s the only justification. I wonder why they didn’t just give her the keys to the van and get them both hotel rooms separately.

Also, I love how a cop doesn’t realize that a public shower might not be the most relaxing activity for a young woman. [/quote]
