The problem with that is MAGA doesn’t recognize any of those names. And there’s nothing inaccurate about the parallels to Hitler in the 1930s.  Of course, MAGA doesn’t know about that either which is why they still don’t get it. And also, many of them are fine with fascism.

DP. I think it depends what your goal is. If you want people to appreciate the point you are making, then you have to meet their understanding where it is and also recognize that throwing Hitler/Nazi makes some people stop listening. So many people on this board claim to be lawyers, litigators no less, surely those folks know that there are ways to be persuasion but loaded analogies aren’t one of them. [/quote]

You give them far too much credit. Most of us have spelled out the stages of fascism and even suggested books and documentaries. They. Don’t. Want. To. Learn.  They think they know everything. And….some of them ARE fascists. Also, some of them are trolling.  [/quote]
