Back to you VA public’s haha! Even in the summer league that most of the college commits play in you can see that even the best public players are on average significantly inferior to the better private players. It’s no knock on anyone but when you’ve been playing public competition for four years you’re not going to be at the same level as those private schools players who are playing a top 20 national schedule. ITS JUST NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!
You have zero idea who the best public players are. There are maybe 2 or 3 privates that play a top 20 schedule. And half of those guys sit the bench. Do the local privates have more than the 5 PLL players from NOVA publics in that league the last year or 2? I'm guessing yea, but curious.
In all due respect to Robinson for being a good team year in and year out... There is only 1 VA Public that has actually beaten top privates in the last 5 years. Riverside. They not only are competitive, losing 3 times to Privates by less the 5. But they have actually beaten Gonzaga and STAB.
The post I was replying to was from a private dad who said the best individual public school players are significantly inferior to the best private school players because of all the great competition they go against. Wasn't talking about teams, best privates are no doubt deeper. He based that on summer league watching, with no doubt little idea who even the best public school players are, or if they're even there. Also sounds like he embarassed his kid by going to watch regularly. Is why I asked the question I did. Evidently, the answer must not be one he likes, so he of course moved the goalposts.
