The public elementary school withdrew from the local school system when the larger town threatened to shut it down and merge it into the other local schools. They went private and have been a "private" public school since then. Very nice community feel and people of immense means can live next to people of extremely modest means, and no one makes a big deal of it at all. And the people of immense means tend to drive old VWs and not BMWs, etc. As long as you're okay with a complete lack of anonymity, it can be great. [/quote]
