Sorry I meant 7 APs. All the rest honors. Also a top varsity athlete for multiple seasons of sports. (Not recruited for D1)
She should focus on adding another non-sport extracurricular or volunteer project over the next two years, will matter more than another AP class. Sports alone, for non recruits, doesn’t go that far.
What schools can she very easily get into exactly as she is? I think we will go with those and forget top anything and go very low and easy bc it seems too complicated and competitive. Any suggestions of not extremely expensive nice schools appreciated.
What state are you in? What is unweighted gpa?
VA. 4.0 unweighted.
You can try for UVA or W and M, but it is likely going to take either a higher test score, or apply test optional, but need to beef up extracurriculars. JMU would be a likely.
UVA is unlikely. They are crystal clear they want the the most rigorous classes in all disciplines. WM also wants top rigor and is a bit of a grind once you get there. And the kids there don’t mind some grinding. Seems like a poor fit. So: VT arts and sciences, JMU, VCU, GMU should all be great. UMW if she wants small. It would help to have an area of interest. Midwestern SLACs? Wooster comes to mind for this kid. And she’d likely get great merit. But SLAC are fit dependent, so we’d need to know what she wants. Large Us, some of the SEC school are more relaxed Greek life and sports interest her. Pitt rolling decision
