If clouds obscure this, you won't get the full effect. The 2017 total eclipse (in SC) was one of the amazing experiences I've ever witnessed. We were at the beach on vacation, so had to go inland quite a bit to get out the cloudy forecast. Very glad we did that, even though it was a hella traffic event getting past Columbia.
