My niece got a sleeve when her mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, to express her love for her parents. Not because of body dysmorphic disorder. A family member has a primary care physician who also works out, tons of muscle, leads community walking groups to encourage people to get out and move. And his forearm is tattooed.

Sorry about her mom’s cancer… but how does a tattoo sleeve express love?  Was it her mother’s dearest wish that her daughter get one?  Otherwise, it speaks more to a (rather narcissistic) bid for attention.[/quote]
