How does one apply to become an equity officer? Is there a job description somewhere? At $232k, it appears the position pays more than what a teacher can ever make with a PhD https://govsalaries.com/king-nardos-e-143711008 The max an fcps teacher with Phd can ever earn is $135k https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/pdf/FY23-teacher-260-day.pdf
Every time a mom's for liberty troll make a post, a person in FX registers as a Democrat. These posts don't do what they're intended to do.
Every time I see "moms of liberty," which I had never heard of btw before this forum, I think of how progressive Democrats want to shut down conversation, the goal is sell-censorship, a fear of being labeled any of the many things that could get you cancelled. So, call someone MAGA or moms of liberty, the worst of the worst. Instead of posting what you posted, why don't you actually question the person about what they posted: The issue the person raised is an equity officer can make more than a teacher with a PhD can ever make and implied is the idea of what this say about what we value, a highly-skilled teacher vs an equity officer.
Funny. Every time I think of Moms for Liberty (and professing ignorance about the notorious group is not the flex you think if you are genuinely interested in developments in public school education), I think of how they literally quoted Adolph Hitler in their materials. But, I know, I know, you think with live in a colorblind society and are tired of all this race talk already. https://www.wfyi.org/news/articles/indiana-chapter-of-moms-for-liberty-features-hitler-quote-in-first-newsletter
My point was that instead of name calling, you should question what a person has said and even try to see things from their side. But let's take a look at what you posted. 1) "and professing ignorance about the notorious group is not the flex you think if you are genuinely interested in developments in public school education" Well this is actually true. I have never met anyone from this group, and I think that if I took a survey in my area or even went up to the elementary bus stop it would unlikely anyone had heard of this group. 2) "But, I know, I know, you think with live in a colorblind society and are tired of all this race talk already." So, if I don't keep up on fringe far right groups then there is something wrong with me? 3) https://www.wfyi.org/news/articles/indiana-chapter-of-moms-for-liberty-features-hitler-quote-in-first-newsletter
This is the Indiana chapter. Do they have something to do with the Fairfax County? This isn't an area with tons of moms meeting up for prayer groups and home school. Oh wait, this group is pro-school voucher (from "Have you heard" section in newletter), that would be scary to many people, and that idea needs to be shut down, anywhere that discussion is taking place. 4)Let's take a look at the article which was written by an Indiana public education reporter for NPR. The quote was obviously used as warning, "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future." This group is worried about indoctrination in public schools and thinks parents should have a say in their kids education. Of course, Democrats jumped on this quote and basically accused them of spreading hateful views. I think that it's obvious, this group is concerned about people brainwashing their kids and not teaching them to think for themselves and the quote represents how totalitarian governments control a population. Not all at once but in small steps and no one notices until it's too late.
Amazing how you are twisting yourself into a knot to defend the usage of a Hitler quote while simultaneously trying to downplay it. Don’t get me started on their invalid fears about “indoctrination.” You just don’t like that DEI programs and similar concepts aim to correct the types of ridiculous indoctrination our children have been subjected to for decades or, worse, introduce even more radical ideas such as DeSantis wanting children to believe slaves benefited by learning skills or the ultimate goal of groups like Moms for Liberty: The formal introduction of faith-based/christian curricula in schools. The right-wing indoctrination agenda is far more insidious and harmful than anything oriented around inclusion.
