Instead of posting what you posted, why don't you actually question the person about what they posted: The issue the person raised is an equity officer can make more than a teacher with a PhD can ever make and implied is the idea of what this say about what we value, a highly-skilled teacher vs an equity officer.

As a rule of thumb, bringing up Hitler unless you’re talking about an actual genocide is stupid. But it’s also nuts how some Democrats will trot this out to try and suggest these moms were holding Hitler out as a role model.

Don’t get me started on their invalid fears about “indoctrination.” You just don’t like that DEI programs and similar concepts aim to correct the types of ridiculous indoctrination our children have been subjected to for decades or, worse, introduce even more radical ideas such as DeSantis wanting children to believe slaves benefited by learning skills or the ultimate goal of groups like Moms for Liberty: The formal introduction of faith-based/christian curricula in schools.

The right-wing indoctrination agenda is far more insidious and harmful than anything oriented around inclusion.

According to the newsletter you linked to, moms of liberty claims 120,000 members nationwide. That does not sound like a major force to me. As far as the DEI programs go, I think its more distraction and uses resources that could be better put to use elsewhere. It seems that you are fear mongering by listing extremes. There is no way that FCPS is going to introduce faith-based/christian curricula in schools.

She isn't long serving with FCPS. She was long serving in a role where she absolutely failed. This should be a step down with a salary to reflect it. She should not be one of the highest paid county employees

Nardos King has "served" FCPS for over 15 years - I think even close to 20 or more. She started at Mount Vernon High School back in the early 2000s as the finance person - maybe even the 1990s. She rose through the ranks and became principal of MVHS around 2006/2007. She was principal at MVHS until Sept 2015. She left two weeks into the school year to take the Baltimore assistant superintendent role. She was only in Baltimore a couple of years and came back to FCPS as an Executive Principal in 2018 or 2019. She was promoted to the Region 3 Superintendent in 2019. Why do I know her history? Because I have children at MVHS and we have been in the MVHS pyramid since 2005. She often talks about her long tenure at MVHS.

Has she failed in her roles in FCPS? As a parent, I would say she did not fail as the principal at MVHS. My oldest was a sophomore in high school when she left MVHS. I never heard rave reviews about her but I also didn't hear people actively complaining about her either. Between my three children, we've been through three principals at MVHS and all three of them have been fine. I do find her to be a dynamic and motivating speaker. She also was very strict with the dress code.

Does she deserve to be one of the highest paid county employees? Again, I don't know the answer to that.

So her experience is at the worst high school in northern Virginia and at the worst school district in the country? Neither improved under her tenure, but she got promoted anyway? Talk about failing upward

This is the Indiana chapter. Do they have something to do with the Fairfax County? This isn't an area with tons of moms meeting up for prayer groups and home school. Oh wait, this group is pro-school voucher (from "Have you heard" section in newletter), that would be scary to many people, and that idea needs to be shut down, anywhere that discussion is taking place.

4)Let's take a look at the article which was written by an Indiana public education reporter for NPR. The quote was obviously used as warning, "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future." This group is worried about indoctrination in public schools and thinks parents should have a say in their kids education. Of course, Democrats jumped on this quote and basically accused them of spreading hateful views. I think that it's obvious, this group is concerned about people brainwashing their kids and not teaching them to think for themselves and the quote represents how totalitarian governments control a population. Not all at once but in small steps and no one notices until it's too late.
