77% of kids are abused by a parent.  "Most child victims are abused by a parent. In 2021, a reported 452,313 perpetrators abused or neglected a child. In substantiated child abuse cases, 77% of children were victimized by a parent."

And, men and women abuse kids equally with more women than men:

The only reason more women abuse children than men do is because far more women have primary custody of their children or are primary carers of them.

If more men had custody and/or were primary caregivers, the statistics would be different. Men are not in general better at avoiding violence and psychological abuse, one need only look at who is responsible for most domestic violence and violence against others outside the home to know this reality.[/quote]
