No you’ve been brainwashed by media hype.  Pp is right, less than 5% of adults are child abusers and sadly 40% or abusers are other adolescents.   Not worth it to live your life in fear.  Teach your kids to be firm about body boundaries but not to live in fear of everyone. [/quote]

I am hardly brainwashed by media, poster. I am a former prosecutor of sex crimes against both adults and children. I’ve had thousands of hours of training and experience in the field. It is insanity to allege that only .1% of people are sexual predators given the prevalence of victims of sexual predation - child and adult victims alike. A very tiny fraction of the cases that occur are ever reported and an even tinier fraction ever get charged and see the inside of a courtroom, but sexual abuse of children and adults is EPIDEMIC in this society. Anyone asserting otherwise is naive in the extreme - or maybe doth protest too much.[/quote]
