Maybe because it's raining or you have mobility issues or have small children or elderly with you, or maybe you feel safer, or just want the convenience of a closer spot. Personally I only wait for a spot if the lot is full - seriously, have none of you ever tried to park on a college campus, downtown, mall at Christmas, etc. where "just park a few spaces down" isn't an option, and the only way you get a space - any space - is to catch somebody leaving? The fact that not one person has responded to "why don't you waive them along" rather than ignore them while you set up a podcast, program your GPS, text your mom, eat your lunch, and put in your eyedrops confirms that this is 100% a need to establish some sort of dominance.[/quote]
