The funny thing is, my father has always been very liberal socially and economically. Is quite politically active. However, if you saw him you’d think he was coming from a Trump rally. He is a pipefitter, tall and fat, and wears work boots, a flannel and sun-dried loose jeans everywhere. He drives a pickup truck. My mother has always been much more strictly religious and is anti-abortion. She hardly pays any attention to politics though.
If he is a pipefitter, I'd assume he belongs to a union and votes Democratic. I think these stereotypes of political parties is not helpful to our national unity. Extremists and attention getters like MTG or OAC do not represent the views of most people. I have several family members who vote Republican who live in the northeast, are college educated, and not religious. I think they mostly vote Republican for fiscal issues--they mainly want low taxes and a pro-business environment--and couldn't care less about social issues.
