So the party of less government wants women to certify their pregnancy with the Department of Transportation? And then link that information to a "Big Brother is Watching You" device like EZ Pass? Please make the stupidity stop.
No pregnant woman is required to certify their pregnancy with VDOT. For HOV purposes, there must be proof of existence for all passengers. The "already born" have that proof because you can see their physical being. The unborn, since you can not see their physical being, require a different form of proof. Any woman who does not use HOV lanes has no need to certify their pregnancy. Pregnant women who use the HOV lanes, but already have the required number of passengers, without counting their unborn child, also have no need to certify their pregnancy.
Well, according to this bill, if I'm pregnant and want to use HOV I have to. Next, they'll want women to prove they are married while pregnant to use the HOV. Then they'll have us wearing burkas. Then they'll say we can't drive. F^ck the GOP!
I have no problem with this. Have you seen some of the things people try to pull to avoid being caught in the HOV lanes? Blow up dolls, mannequins, etc.... I would not put it past some women to stuff a pillow up their shirt and claim pregnancy. If you want to drive in the HOV lane alone as a pregnant woman, then some kind of proof is needed that you are pregnant so that some activist doesn't try to file charges against an officer who pulls her over and asks for proof.
