I used to listen to Suze Orman a lot a decade ago and to Dave Ramsey as well and if I remember correctly, Suze used to advise to prioritize your own retirement over kids' college. I think, but could be wrong, that Dave also gives the same advice, especially to those who are behind on their retirement savings.
