Those of you with this attitude. Who cannot be bothered to actually make eye contact with your mother, and hear about her week, better watch out for karma. (Addressing PP now, not OP)

Sorry if her life does not lend itself to witty, dinner party banter. Love should not be so conditional that you will only listen to her when you are sufficiently fascinated by what she has to talk about. How selfish and sad. Do you think that when you were little, you were fascinating? No, but she probably pretended to be interested because she knew that is what you needed emotionally. Social support is really important for an older person's mental and physical health. Try giving your Mom that precious gift. Has she not earned it?[/quote]
