The parents who we need the most won't respond to calls, texts, emails, smoke signals, etc.  The students realize the Code of Conduct and RJ are a complete joke so they catch on quickly that they can do whatever they want with zero repercussions.  This isn't sustainable.  We (teachers, families, students) must figure out a way to correct course or we're headed for disaster.  I feel like my 60-something mom but I do think the access to technology has a part in it.  We as parents are sometimes distracted by our phones and might not have that focused conversation with our kids like our parents might have done with us.  Just a theory..one of many I play out in my head when thinking about where we are headed.[/quote]
