I wish chap Peterson hadn’t made a state law that prevents districts from reinstating mask mandates. It was such a stupid law. We knew we would have additional surges and the state made an important strategy unavailable.
A mask isn’t stopping this.
+1
You people are so against masks. Rates were not this high in schools when masks were required.
It’s not because masks have been removed. It’s because - people are traveling - people are going back to work - large conferences are happening - proms, dances and auctions - other large events. A lot has changed. Don’t attribute it all to masks.
Oh please. People were out and doing things, as well as traveling (even when they maybe should not have been), kids were playing sports (like mine). All in masks and transmission was low when they did this. We had not a single COVID case on my child's travel team for the entirety of Covid - UNTIL masks went away. It is the masks. Or, I should say, the anti-maskers.
You’re aware that schools were closed for the worst 3 weeks of the last omicron surge? If you look at the FCPS dashboard you will see that current highest day of reported covid cases is just a hair higher than the highest day in December when masks were still required (and right before the three week break when cases undoubtedly would have skyrocketed if school was still in session despite mandatory masking). How do you explain this?
