The Nazis didn't just kill actively practicing religious Jewish people. They also killed people who had Jewish grandparents, even if they ir their parents had converted. And again, the Nazis didn't attempt to.wipe out the Jewish religion, converting or moving away from Judaism didn't save people. It was an extermination of people. It definitely was teated like a race then. The propaganda again didn't treat the religion as althe issue, it attacked the Jewish people as less than human. So saying the Nazis weren't about race ignores their focus in blood purity and rhe way people were exterminated for ancestry. Don't get me wrong I'm also sure the Nazis would have killed anyone who converted as well, but their extermination campaign was focused on blood and a people.
I agree with this. I am not Jewish and do not know if Jews are a race or not. I do know that Hitler considered them a race and killed them for being Jewish. And, to PP who mentioned that others were also killed. That is true. But, Hitler did not send anywhere near the numbers of others than he did the Jewish people. Whoopi clearly looks at everything through a racial lens. As long as people do this, there will be racism. Skin color should mean nothing--I haven't heard of anyone who bleeds black blood, white blood, or yellow blood. Pretty sure everyone's blood is red. Until we all accept that, and treat others accordingly, we will have these issues. A school board member in Fairfax County just referred to the Superintendent as "too dumb and too white." Is that racist? Sounds racist to me. Yet has received no coverage from the Washington Post. What if another SB member had referred to others that are not white as "too ___"? All of us need to drop the racism. Whoopi is a very wealthy woman who has succeeded in this country. She needs to acknowledge that. That doesn't[ mean she cannot be concerned about racism, but she needs to acknowledge that racism comes in many colors.
