Johnson will make Hutchings seem like he is responsive to parent concerns.  Johnson is stubborn, unwilling to consider others' ideas, and dismissive of parents legitimate concerns.   In this time of needing to hold Hutchings to account, she is an extremely terrible choice.

We met her several times while considering whether we’d go to our neighborhood school or not, and this was definitely my impression of her. She was very defensive and did not entertain our questions, while being disparaging of the other options we were considering. Our neighbors seem to generally love her, though.[/quote]

You have it exactly really right and it is like a microcosm of PTA parent leadership interaction with ACPS leadership.  The Polk parents act like they love her and publicly act supportive even if some will say privately how difficult she is and acknowledge her lack of openness to different (and evidence supported) instructional approaches, etc. and to be collaborative with parents.  She has shown no creativity or flexibility in addressing the pandemic.  [/quote]
