My child (who is actually mixed race), like any all children of any race, is “entitled” by law to a free and appropriate education. Johnson, for whatever reason( be it a racist refusal to respond to a white parent’s legitimate concern, ignorance about what an appropriate education consists of, or just plain stubbornness) worked to deny my child a FAPE. You are a horrible person for applauding Johnson for blocking my child from receiving the services to which he is entitled by law.

She was very defensive and did not entertain our questions, while being disparaging of the other options we were considering. Our neighbors seem to generally love her, though.

You have it exactly really right and it is like a microcosm of PTA parent leadership interaction with ACPS leadership. The Polk parents act like they love her and publicly act supportive even if some will say privately how difficult she is and acknowledge her lack of openness to different (and evidence supported) instructional approaches, etc. and to be collaborative with parents. She has shown no creativity or flexibility in addressing the pandemic.
