Why should the coach give your kid more playing time if you're the Team Manager? That is the exact reason parents shouldn't be involved in the team started at U13...
PP I get it. I did this for baseball because they asked me personally and it was my oldest kid and I didn't know any better. It was not that bad, but grew to be a lot of time, and over time during the year, I grew to resent it all-- especially certain things about what the coach did and when certain parents didn't help at all but would complain. This was in a heavily parent-centered environment at the time, however, and not paid coaching, which is different. Then I stopped doing it the following year and I was much happier. But kiss-a parents come in many forms and a lot of team managers are not the same way. We are just idiots who agreed to help out sometimes.
