logistics for switching from DL to hybrid can be a nightmare at this point due to all the planning that already happened. I can understand the reasons for not allowing it. Provided those who chose hybrid actually send their kids in, and aren't just "holding a spot"..
WRONG - this is just wrong! The reason you can't change your mind is because of the absolute, complete LACK of planning that ACPS did. As stated earlier - they had ZERO intention of returning kids to school this year. They only backtracked because of Gov Northam. If they had intended to return kids - at any point - they wouldn't be in such a panic to use the only numbers they have available. They would have been in regular contact with parents - with accurate information. Hell - they might have tried to survey the teachers on a regular, rolling, basis - rather than just going with the numbers they had from December and using them as gospel for all of their metrics - despite vaccinations being available. Instead they are using the early December parent/student numbers, and resurveying teachers. No school was/is even remotely prepared for students to return in March. Most questions - about logistics, safety, transportation, curriculum - are still "under development". ALL of these issues could have been resolved far before now - ESPECIALLY if they felt the student return numbers were locked and final in December!!! I'm appalled at the lack of management, communication, strategy and operations basics that ACPS has on full display every day. And I'm especially appalled at the people that defend this utter mediocrity. What are your standards? How do you operate in life with such low expectations?
