Honestly most of this could have been avoided if people didn't get so hysterical about the idea of having a teacher from another school. Both parents and staff were guilty of this. If they could have moved teachers around for this year we would have been able to have DL teachers and school-based teachers. Thanks for blaming teachers. Teachers were never asked for any input on these plans and we were told we might be given different locations if needed so I don’t see how the responsibility lies there. We are in a global pandemic and conditions change rapidly. PP. I am an APS teacher.
Some APS teachers were not asked for any input or even told they might be moved to another location. The communication with teachers has been extremely poor.
The preference survey went to all staff so I am not sure what your are referring to. I know that being moved sucks, it has happened to me. APS does not guarantee placement at a school as enrollment needs change. Creating a pool of distance teachers and shuffling in-person teachers could have been a way to actually give the largest amount of teachers and families their preference. I think the major pushback for the idea of moving teachers around was from families, but there were some vocal teachers as well.
