AYFKM? Nothing about this situation is “fair” to anyone? Students whose families elected hybrid should be wholly deprived of that just so your kid doesn’t have to see their teacher in a mask twice a week?

The students who selected hybrid also will be "wholy deprived" of any physical interaction with the teacher. The teacher will have to stay at their desk, or standing in the same spot the entire time, so that DL students can see what she's doing, too. She cannot walk over a desk--less than 6 feet anyway. She will not be able to offer any additional guidance to those who are there, so there is absolutely no advantage to being there in person. Meanwhile, the teacher will have to stop to discipline people in the room now, those not wearing masks, those talking to others, etc., so everything will be slower and harder to follow.

We are well aware of that. For us, it is still preferable to what's happening now. That we made a different choice does not mean we don't have the same information you do, so please stop arrogantly assuming that anyone with a different opinion is just ignorant.

Thanks for blaming teachers. Teachers were never asked for any input on these plans and we were told we might be given different locations if needed so I don’t see how the responsibility lies there. We are in a global pandemic and conditions change rapidly.


PP. I am an APS teacher.

Some APS teachers were not asked for any input or even told they might be moved to another location. The communication with teachers has been extremely poor.

Honestly most of this could have been avoided if people didn't get so hysterical about the idea of having a teacher from another school. Both parents and staff were guilty of this. If they could have moved teachers around for this year we would have been able to have DL teachers and school-based teachers.
