So "this is it for McLean" is probably a bit strong. McLean has a great history of turning the corner for U16 and U17 teams. In fact, they are probably the winningest program at U17 and above in the area over the past 5 years The corner turning has continued this year, but dilution and COVID related scaling back of recruiting classes will likely mean fewer placements than in the past. Is this a good thing for the area? We might develop a bumper crop of college grade kids this way (across all clubs), but there is a holding back effect on the most talented.
