[/quote] I think you’re throwing around a term you don’t understand. “Statutory rape“ which is not really used in a legal context in this country anyway only refers to somebody who is below the age of consent having sexual contact of any kind. So the crime, if one is committed, is sexual assault because consent is not recognized by the law. That said, the age of consent in France is 15. The age of consent in the US varies by state but most commonly is 16. In my state and probably in yours a 16 year old can have sex and sex with anybody they want. You may think it’s creepy but as long as both parties are consenting it’s not illegal.[/quote]
