Actually, not true. You are legally entitled to quiet enjoyment of your own property. If your neighbor is doing something that is harming, disturbing etc, t[b]hen you can force them to stop doing so[/b]. Especially if it was illegal like doing drugs publicly.

It is actually illegal for you to sit on your front porch and drink wine in DC. Your front porch is considered public. I remember people getting fined 15-20 years ago and people being surprised. I don't think they ever changed the law. [/quote]

NP. But that's just it - you can't force them to do anything.  That's the problem.  You can try to have a conversation with them or get the property manager or owner involved if it's a rental unit, but if the behavior continues, you have little recourse short of a lawsuit.  Or you move.[/quote]

From my conversation with attorneys, you could take them to court or threaten to. You can force them to stop what they are doing that is not allowing you to enjoy your property. But have never done it, and it would be a last recourse... [/quote]
