Actually, not true. You are legally entitled to quiet enjoyment of your own property. If your neighbor is doing something that is harming, disturbing etc, t[b]hen you can force them to stop doing so. Especially if it was illegal like doing drugs publicly.
It is actually illegal for you to sit on your front porch and drink wine in DC. Your front porch is considered public. I remember people getting fined 15-20 years ago and people being surprised. I don't think they ever changed the law.
NP. But that's just it - you can't force them to do anything. That's the problem. You can try to have a conversation with them or get the property manager or owner involved if it's a rental unit, but if the behavior continues, you have little recourse short of a lawsuit. Or you move.

Anonymous wrote:Why should someone be forced to move if they don't feel like smelling pot. If they are breaking the law, then they should suffer the consequences. We have rules so that we can have an ordered society. More and more, law abiding citizens are being squeezed out by dishonest, selfish people like yourself.
You need to respect others and their place within our community. If you are going to model your behaviors and actions after Trump, then society will break down and it won't be pretty.

I still don't want anyone near me toking up. It stinks and is disgusting. Do it in your house where no one else has to be forced to see, smell, breath in your disgusting habit.
No. I won’t. I’ll smoke on my porch and you will move.
Republican Trumpkin.
NP. I'm a conservative (although not a "Trumpkin", I'd prefer someone else on the conservative side to be President) and you can't look at us for this. I don't know a single conservative who wants to live next door to people getting high (whether that's pot or mushrooms), let alone do it themselves. All the conservatives that I know would happily ban all drugs with very steep penalties. Getting high is far more popular (and tolerated) on the left. Just look at where in the country drugs have been decriminalized.
