DCIAA won't allow them to have two teams in the same league. That's why they at least have a 6th grade team (that competes in the Education Campus League) and the 7/8 grade team (that competes in the Middle School League).
And they shouldn't. If playing for a MS basketball team is that important to someone they can lottery for another school where there will be less competition.
What child doesn’t want to represent their school? Wether it’s sports, debate or whatever. PP must have a child that’s not engaged in extra curricular activities at school.
Plenty of ways to be engaged in an extra curricular activity. But the child may need to be flexible about which activity they are in. Not eveyrone can play basketball, but everyone can join something. If BASKETBALL in particular is the be all end all for any particular child, knowing the size of Deal, and the size of a basketball roster, they should consider another MS so they could get the playing time needed to be competitive for a Wilson team, for example, if that's their goal.
