I do agree with the OP (if she is actually talking about Winnetka) that a number of women there are all about stratus, clothes and money, but not really that different from Bethesda or Mclean except for more diversity (but same attitude!).  However, just like here, i’m sure there are pockets of different people if you just expand the group of people you’re meeting. Right now you’re just focusing on a group of mothers at your school.  I bet there are others out there that can’t stand that group either. Also check out things at the University (there or whatever city your in).  They tend to be more diverse and you might find more people with similar interests and less status obsessed (at least with regards to money). [/quote]
