Maybe she had the baby with her for Thanksgiving breakfast and made cinnamon rolls to enjoy together.  The baby's dad came by to pick the baby up that afternoon and he was going to spend the later part of the day with baby going to dinner at his family's house and possibly picking out a Christmas tree.

It sounds like the dad is as involved a parent as Kelsey is.  He probably isn't talking to police or allowing Kelsey's mom to see the baby because he wants to leave the baby with his family if he is taken in for questioning.  The baby is used to his own mom and maybe isn't around Kelsey's mom that much.

If he and Kelsey were no longer an item and they were no longer see each other romantically but working together to co-parent...I can see why he might not have been worried when he received a text from her saying that she was going out of town for a little while.  If he normally watched the baby during the day, he was used to having the baby with him.  He's not acting like the distraught fiance because he and Kelsey were not planning to get married...that had all fizzled out well before she disappeared.
