Not on the same scale, but we were stationed at a military base with a huge historical mansion for the main general's house. There was a historic type group that managed the house, and they had a store of furniture that fit the style and era of the house that each general's wife would shop through when they moved in to fill out their own furnishings and to furnish the main formal entertaining area. I went to the house while two different generals lived there. The huge formal room and I think dining room were mostly stock furniture from the collection, while their own stuff was mostly in the back more private areas (family room off the kitchen, den, etc.) I am sure the palaces are the same way. We don't know how much of the furnishings in this particular room are newly purchased by Kate, and how much is stuff she picked from the castle's furniture collection. If she is trying to present a frugal front, a lot of it might be stuff she is recycling.[/quote]
