agreed, we need a grassroots organization that’s created to address the lack of diverse, non-majority marriages along the east coast and Florida. We need husbands committed to the ideal that embracing diversity that will lead to acceptance, empathy, and ultimately equality. This effort served as a public call to action. Fill in the blank, people. Take a photo of him. Post it to Facebook. I’m sure your friends did. Wives and people of different races, religions, and sexual orientations are Different and Diverse, or “DD” for short. I watched this trending on DCUM and almost didn’t respond, thinking, “What everyone else is saying is great. There’s probably not much more I can contribute to the conversation.” However, in the end, I decided to throw in my own thoughts, and should have said: “We need diverse marriages because . . . this generation of kids will grow up to be the majority.
