I want my husband to earn about as much as I do. I don't think this is unreasonable.
If you make $200K, how many candidates are there, and how many other women also want to meet those guys? How many of those other women are prettier than you are?
This is a point. It is ok for a man to make more than a woman in relationships, but not the other way around. That means that the only way society works is if most women earn less than most men. For equality, it just should not matter. I am male. I make 185K. I am ok with a woman that makes more than me (I would welcome it....more money is better than less money, but more time is better than less time, it is a tradeoff). I am ok if the woman make less than me. SAH is problematic because, at 185K, it is kind of hard to support a family.
+1 This is the REAL reason for the gender wage gap. And it's the only one that you never hear from feminists. Women generally require men to make around as much or more than they do. For obvious reasons, this results in a trend where men tend to make as much or more money than women.
