Life is fragile and unpredictable.  I married someone only 6 years older than me, and he was constantly chronically ill and eventually became so depressed he didn't want to be married anymore.  In our last years together it was like living with an 80-year-old man, even though my ex-h was only in his late 40s.

Now I'm with someone 10 years my senior who is much fitter, more vibrant, more energetic, and healthier than my ex and who keeps up with me in every way -- including a phenomenally high sex drive.

And he could get hit by a drunk driver tomorrow, so I don't spend a ton of time worrying about whether my joy today comes at a price of a very sad, long, goodbye when I'm 80 and he's 90.  [/quote]
