Those articles you quoted also stated correlation does not mean causation, and gave several explanations such as:
-Virgins/people with low #s tend to be religious, so they don't believe in divorce
-Women with higher numbers know what else is out there and so have higher standards for their partners
-Studies weren't published and peer-reviewed, so they could be BS

But if you want a woman who just sticks around because she doesn't know there's better quality men out there, so you can get away with doing the bare minimum, you do you.

I know from my own experience DH and I had a fantastic relationship until he found out my # (which is higher than average, but about half of his #) and flipped out. Apparently while he was out having fun, I should have been spending my weekends at home knitting. So the only way my # had a negative impact on our marriage is because he is too insecure to handle it. Not my fault.

Guys are always telling women to be less jealous and insecure, maybe they should take their own advice.
