We can only look at what was written. There is no surah where men seeking pledge allegiance to Muhammad were asked to promise not to lie, steal or fornicate. Clear punishment is prescribed for all fornicators, male and female. That's a completely separate verse. Why wouldn't that have been enough for both men and women? Why were only women asked to promise not to lie, steal or fornicate?[/quote]
