I can see MCPS budget cuts and county school vouchers on the table in four years. Why? I noticed some of the rougher gang / drug ES are included into Crown. MCPS, as usual, will do the Marie Antoinette on complaints from downtown crown and Rio. At that point the Council and MCPS will have zero credibility with taxpayers and voters.
Crown is a horrible site for new high school. Just imagine high school kids skip school and hang out and Rio shopping area. It’s a mistake to begin with.
What about BCC and RM? They are both by big downtown shopping areas.
IDK about Crown but both BCC and RM are too large to have the lunch period the same for everyone. Thankfully, the kids can walk to neighboring businesses for lunch. I know of at least one restaurant that has/had an RM lunch special for the HS kids. My DC loved it.
RM has open lunch for all students at the same time - my child currently attends RM
PP here, yes, that's what I mean. My kid also goes to RM. There's a reason why these big schools have open lunch, and the kids like the convenient location. They also go to RTC during the winter to ice skate after school.
