I have seen rec teams that did stay together for years. Sometimes, that parent coach can be a guy who played at a high level in college or something and knows how to run a practice. I've seen some solid rec teams with kids that maybe even should play travel based on ability, but whose parents won't commit the time and money. So they play rec. I've seen those rec teams enter lower level travel tournaments and win. So, at the lower levels, lines can get blurred.[/quote]
