Got an email from VYS introducing a Development Center Program. Four 1 hour sessions for $80 plus two games $120. Coach to player ratio 12:1. $20 an hour per kid. Why do these coaches need to charge $240/hour. Is this a money grab or are they trying to improve the quality of the kids for the sake of improving the quality of the kids. I understand paying some random trainer $20/hour but a club trainer? Frustrating. And 4 sessions? Whatever.
What do you propose the cost should be? Simple solution for you is to just not pay it. Like PP said there are factors that go into it. This includes cost of fields, paid staff, etc. Good luck finding a reputable trainer for $20 per hour unless you plan on doing it with multiple kids. Also compare it to other supplemental training programs that are out there such as Joga, HP Elite, AAP and I think you'll find the cost pretty reasonable, although I wouldn't expect the training to be as quality as those.
HP Elite expensive. AAP is expensive. I agree. That training is very good. Joga is like $12/hr. I think. And yes, I'm sure the quality of this program will be nowhere that intense, so apples and oranges. Another local club provides additional training in a supplemental development program for U7s and U8s. I think it's eight 90-minute sessions for $75 a kid. I just think the club should invest in these U littles a bit and not try to make money on them. Make money on the older kids.
